Lather it Up!

(by TR)

Good day, people of the world!

The wedding off-season allows us time to fit in other photo-gigs – anything from shooting families to horse trainers (hey, Emily!) – and gives us a chance to expand our portfolio in numerous ways. We always welcome new and different opportunities, and we recently had the privilege of doing a shoot set for Lather Salon here in Boulder. They needed some great photos for their marketing, and had heard about us through a bride whose wedding we shot this summer (Thanks again Becca!).

Lather is owned by Jackie Martin – and she’s just great. Jackie and her staff of stellar stylists do good work – she gave me a haircut as part of the deal, and I actually enjoyed the experience quite a bit. One of their stylists, Christelle, gave me the works – haircut, shampoo & condish, and even a bit of a neck massage with the little vibe-ing massager thing. I’m typically a get-my-haircut-at-Great-Clips type of guy, which, to many, is a just step up from cutting it yourself or having a family member do so (no offense to the Great Clips people of the world, I’m a proud Great Clips Veteran, and unless I get offered more free haircuts at Lather or any other place, will likely continue to go there).

Anyhow, I’ve got to say that I enjoyed the experience of getting my hair cut and shooting the photos at Lather. Lather has a very cool vibe (see the photos), great stylists, and I would certainly recommend giving them a try if you live in the Boulder area, especially if you’re a girl and actually care a great deal about your hair. If you’re a guy and really want your hair cut well, or just want to go to a place with a little more flavor and hair cut benefits, I would also suggest trying them out.

Hope you enjoy the images. You can go to Lather’s website at lathersalonboulder.com to contact them, however their site doesn’t quite do their shop justice so I’d show on up if you want to check it out.

Thanks, Jackie! (above)
