Michelle + Alex | Estes Park, Colorado Wedding

Remember that fiasco with the car breaking down and no cell phone service?  That was Alex and Michelle’s wedding day.  They were completely gracious, relaxed, and wonderful even when we arrived a few minutes late, feeling a wee bit flustered. :)  The wedding took place at one of our favorite venues, Mary’s Lake Lodge, in Estes Park, Colorado.  The weather was perfect and the view from the lawn, where the ceremony took place, was incredible.  The photos will reveal some of our favorite things about this day…

Lovely overcast mountain light on the beautiful bride and handsome groom:

Michelle and her dad before the ceremony…I think she’s excited to get married :)Wow…that’s cute.

This was one of our favorite moments of the day.  When the officiant asked Michelle’s dad “who gives this woman…” he said his full name and gave an adorable mini-speech about how he was entrusting his beautiful daughter, Michelle to Alex…I wish I could remember exactly what he said.  But that is why everyone is smiling so hugely in this photo, and I like it.Dramatic first kiss…and a joyful recessional.  We love this moment!Sweet times after the knot-tying.That’s a Colorado Rocky Mountain high…Inside the cozy lodge:Break it down dude…this guy can dance!Purdy…Love the framed scrabble board. Genius!  It has all kinds of words about them and their wedding day.

Thank you Michelle and Alex!!  We so appreciate you…thanks for being such amazing clients.  Hope St. Lucia was fantastic!!! Enjoy!

And, a special little cameo by yours truly!  So here’s the story.  The DJ was playing this “ice-breaking” game with the crowd in which he drew a couple’s name out of a hat (names provided by Michelle + Alex) and they had to do some sort of kiss, which Alex + Michelle then had to mimic.  A play on the whole “clink your glass to get them to kiss” thing.  For reasons unknown, the DJ thought it would be funny to call us out as one of the kissing couples.  Travis’s idea was for me to sit on the floor while he did a cartwheel in front me and tried not to kick me in the head.  In a perfect world we would have kissed while he was upside-down…it didn’t happen, but it was still kinda funny.  :)  Alex was afraid he was going to, in fact, kick Michelle in the head so he didn’t do it.  Later in the night, though, he busted out one sweet cartwheel.  The End!!!
