Ryan & Elyse

Helllooooo Bloggies!

The reasons for today’s jamboree involve 2 things: Ryan and Elyse, of Ely Fair Photography, and the fact that we informally did our first mentor session with them a few weeks ago. Laura and I love helping other photographers whenever we can.  We haven’t done any actual sessions up to this point because, well, it’s difficult to totally put ourselves out there and feel like we’re saying “hey, look, we got it down, and you can pay us to discover how to be awesome!” The truth is that Laura is truly awesome, but me…well, let’s just say I once drove away from a gas station with the pump handle still in my car. Yeah. And honestly, we don’t “have it down.” We’re constantly learning, growing, and striving to understand how we can better do what we do -and needless to say, we have a ton of growing to do.

That said, after our mentor session with Ryan and Elyse, I think Laura and I both realized that we do have something of value to offer other photographers, even if it is just sharing our experiences, or explaining what things we learned the hard way.  When they told us repeatedly that we should really start to officially offer mentor sessions, and that they really benefited from our time together, I think both Laura and I were kind of like ‘maybe we should think more about this…’

So, that’s what we’re going to do for now – start thinking more about it. We still aren’t setting up anything official at this time, but shoot us an email if you’d like to talk about what a mentor session together might look like – whether you’re local or not.

OK, now, on to Ryan and Elyse of Ely Fair Photography, a.k.a. rock stars of Oklahoma City wedding & portrait photography. They are a fellow husband-and-wife photography team, are based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, are mad-creatively talented photographers, and are the genuine kind of people that we mention every now and then on here that you would do well to surround yourself with. Elyse and Ryan have been married about 3 years and are completely adorable together and complement each other so well. They opened their home up to us a few weeks ago when we were down in OKC to shoot our most recent Oklahoma wedding, and we got to sit down with them at length and talk everything photo and even had the pleasure of doing a shoot of the two of them.

Look them up, people. Especially if you are in need of some OKC wedding & portrait photography.  We are excited to see where they take their business, because we are huge fans of their unique and creative style.   And for now, enjoy the photos from their session!
